Saturday, 10/25/25 @ 1p-4p - Care Pod & Go Bag Workshop
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION - Pod Mapping & Your Go Bag Will Save Your Life: How Creating Community is the First Step of Survival. We will use the EARTH SEED Screening & Engagement Guide to lead an interactive process of identifying and cultivating the essential relationships, skills, and resources that Lauren and Octavia tried to tell us. What will you place in your go bag and when? Who will you walk with and why? Asking participants to come prepared with their most meaningful quote from the Parable Series and a printed copy of the recipe they share the most with friends.

People’s Kitchen Collective collaborates with Voices Rising LGBTQ of Color Arts & Culture, and Sistah Sci to bring their documentary, Earthseed: A People’s Journey To Radical Hospitality, to the Land of Enchantment. Led by People’s Kitchen Collective (PKC), their focus on art and activism as a food-centered political education project, is based in Oakland/East Bay Ohlone Land. The project is rooted in Octavia Butler’s Parables series and the legacy of the Black Panther Party for Self Defense, EARTH SEED enacts radical hospitality as a survival practice. It does so by deepening our relationships with BIPOC activists, artists, educators, farmers, youth, and elders. EARTH SEED centers a pilgrimage through California from present-day Los Angeles to Mendocino Woodlands from March – June 2023. Join us in Seattle, WA for the second part of this two day event.
