Friday, 10/24/25 @ 6p-9p - Documentary Screening and Panel - POTLUCK!!
People’s Kitchen Collective collaborates with Voices Rising LGBTQ of Color Arts & Culture, and Sistah Sci to bring their documentary, Earthseed: A People’s Journey To Radical Hospitality, to the Land of Enchantment. Led by People’s Kitchen Collective (PKC), their focus on art and activism as a food-centered political education project, is based in Oakland/East Bay Ohlone Land. The project is rooted in Octavia Butler’s Parables series and the legacy of the Black Panther Party for Self Defense, EARTH SEED enacts radical hospitality as a survival practice. It does so by deepening our relationships with BIPOC activists, artists, educators, farmers, youth, and elders. EARTH SEED centers a pilgrimage through California from present-day Los Angeles to Mendocino Woodlands from March – June 2023. Join us in Seattle, WA for a screening followed by a conversation with members of People’s Kitchen Collective to discuss and share thoughts about the film, what is radical hospitality and how it can help us survive, and what’s needed in our communities.

We will enjoy a potluck meal before the movie screening. You’re welcome to bring a dish to pass. Notecards will be provided to label the ingredients of your offering so that those with food sensitivities and preferences can choose accordingly. Though you are welcome to create the label beforehand.
