What to bring:
Please bring your own yoga mats, blankets, and pillows. If you don't have any, we have some to share! Other comfort items, like eye masks and eye pillows, are encouraged.

We'll have:
Light grounding snacks, some yoga mats, blankets and pillows.

Parking: There is limited FREE parking in the side lot of Washington Hall.  There is street-side parking if the lot is full.

Workshop Facilitators: Chiọma Uruakpa (They/Them) & Tory Trujillo (She/Her)

Tory Trujillo (She/Her) is a Michigan native, Mixed Blood, Two-Spirit, Facilitator of Healing, Professional Vocalist, and the Artistic Director of Voices Rising LGBTQ of Color Arts & Culture. Her Mexican Indigenous heritage informs her work as a Sound Medicine Practitioner, Bodyworker, Energyworker, and Ritual Leader. Her sound Medicine offerings are deeply intuitive, healing, and transformational and her work with Voices Rising is bringing powerful cultural arts experiences to community.

Chiọma Uruakpa (They/Them) is a Black non-binary creative passionate about holding space for healing for Black folk, BIPOC, queer and trans* folx. They studied yoga with Studio 34 in Philadelphia, and now lead guided movement and meditation in community. Chiọma’s love for spiritual practice, community cultivation, and healing justice guides their work.

Rest is resistance, rest is revolution, rest is self and mutual care. We need all opportunities to rest, move grief & rage, feel supported, and be fortified. . . now, more than ever. Come through and receive! During this sound bath, Tory Trujillo will play Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls, A Mayan Ocean Drum, and will incorporate Vocal Toning to support healing, grounding, and restoration. Participants will be led into the experience with guided breath work, an embodiment practice and will receive a powerful Vibrational Sound Session.  Come through and receive.

Chairs, a few yoga mats, cushions, and blankets will be available to borrow. Participants are encouraged to bring yoga mats, bolsters, blankets, pillows, and anything else desired to create a nest of comfort.

There will be a community altar for this event. You are welcome to bring anything that you’d like to add or place on the altar during our time together.

An activation of inner glow.  . .are you ready?  This Winter Solstice Performance Ceremony is a dynamic, participatory experience that blends spoken word, movement, music, and visual storytelling drawn from the unique experiences of diasporic and indigenous peoples on colonized lands. It speaks to resilience, redefining self and identity, while reaching for overarching wisdom and optimism in these tumultuous times.  Soundscapes, visual projections, song, vocalizations, and ritualistic elements will create an atmosphere that fosters deep engagement and reflection.

THINK: A hybrid of block party, garage sale and art fair! We are seeking vendors of all kinds to participate. Consider bringing your vintage items, garage sale items, personal art pieces, and more. The event will also have a family-friendly kid's activity area.
